FADED INTO the MISTS of TIME

Michael Josef Von Gebel

Richart /Corcoran Family

In or about 1874, Katherine Jones married Alfred Richart who worked on the Railroad, and was originally born in Indiana.  Sometime between the 1880 Census and 1883 when Katherine marries William J. Corcoran, something happened to Alfred Richart, whether he was killed or they divorced, no record has been found to explain his disappearance.  When Katherine marries William J. Corcoran, the children’s surname is changed to Corcoran.  And so their name would remain.

William J. Corcoran and Katherine lived in Decatur, where periodically ads would appear in the paper of William J. Corcoran endorsing Doan’s Pills . William also was a railroad worker.  In or about 1905 if would appear William either died or he and Katherine were divorced.  No record of death, divorce or death announcement have been located.  Katherine soon disappears after 1910 census.  Her whereabouts at this time has not been determined.  The pictures for the Corcoran’s are the only ones known to exist.  If you would like further information or have information to share or notice something in error email me at vongoebel@hotmail.com
